Allergies, what are they?
Allergies seem like they appear for no apparent reason but it’s a body’s way of expressing hypersensitivity. An allergic reaction occurs when an individual comes in contact with certain foods or medicines. Even pollen grains, bee venom, or a harmless substance can cause an allergy. Whatever causes an allergy is referred to as an allergen. But allergies do not result on the first encounter with an allergen. Because even the immune system requires time to be able to recognize and detect the allergen before becoming sensitive towards it. The journey from recognizing it to reacting to it is referred to as sensitization.
Allergies their types and their symptoms
A person suffering from food allergies might suffer from bouts of vomiting, swelling of their lips, face, or throat, a severe case of stomach cramps, diarrhea, and breathlessness. Someone who is stung by an insect undergoes a constriction in the chest, spells of dizziness, low blood pressure, wheezing, and swelling on the spot where the person has been stung. On the other hand, those affected by a drug-based allergy deal with wheezing, swelling up of the tongue, lips, and face, and even rash. Allergies of different types result in different kinds of symptoms.
Allergies here’s how they are caused?
The contact of allergen and antibody results in the production of an immunoglobulin E (IgE). Furthermore, when the immunoglobulin connects with the allergen, chemicals are released which triggers allergic reactions. If allergies continue to persist without being diagnosed a person might end up suffering from migraine, headache, back pain, asthma, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, addictions, etc. Hence it’s critically important to get yourself treated.
